Shri. C. R. Bala Viswanathan hails from a music family. His father Shri C V Ranga Iyer, a leading Advocate by profession was a great musician and had composed a lot of songs which was published as a book by him. His classmates were GNB, M.D. Ramanathan and Badminton Kicha, grandfather of Bombay Jaishree. He was a very fine flutist and he was an AIR artist first in Calicut and then in Trichoor.
