Mrs.Venkatalakshmi Mahadevan started her learning music at the age of 5 and continued her music training with husband's support. She has composed and tuned many songs on different deities and released the same in book form. Her Ramayana Paamaalai in 43 ragas is sung by many all over the country and abroad . Other works wriiten by her 1. Eniyavai Erubathu' 2.Madhura madhavam discribing Bhagavatham from sri Krishna jananam to Rugmini kalyanam and Sri padmabha paadaathi kesa namaskaram etc etc. She was honored by Kerala Brahmana Sabha with the title ' VANI PRIYA' presented by the king of Travancore .
