Puthucode Krishnamurthy was born in the year 1923, in a village called Puthucode, in Palakkad District, Kerala. He started learning Music from his grand mother Smt.Parvathy, then continued advanced training under Palakkad Rama Bhagavatar. In 1958' He has been appointed as a faculty in Swathy Tirunal College of Music, Trivandrum. In 1976' he became the Principal of Chembai memorial college of Music in Palakkad. After retirement, he joined in Chennai Kalakshethra, he worked with Vidwan M.D.Ramanathan. they were close friends. Puthucode sir spent his last days in Karamanai, Trivandrum. He passed away on August 23rd, Friday on the day of Varalakshmi Vratham, after chanting the Devee Maahaathmyam, 11th Chapter, by doing the dhoopa aarathy.... He has composed many compositions, Varnams, Ragamalikas, Pancharatnams, Ramayanam, Dashaavathara Kritis.
